Bar Manager - East Tamaki - Part time

About the Role

As the Bar Manager of an onsite bar at a brewery, you'll be at the heart of the brewery experience - creating an engaging, welcoming, and responsible drinking environment that showcases quality craft beer and great hospitality.

You'll oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the bar, lead by example, inspire your team, and ensure every guest enjoys a safe, memorable, and authentic brewery experience.

Payrate: $30 per hour

Shift Options:

  • Shift 1: Tuesday to Friday: 1:45 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Shift 2: Tuesday to Friday: 7:00 PM - 11:15 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and uphold best-practice host responsibility standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day bar operations, ensuring stock levels are maintained and well-managed.
  • Manage bar budgets and spending in line with company policies.
  • Coordinate and manage bar bookings, ensuring smooth handovers between shifts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that enhances the customer experience.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a space guests want to return to.
  • Support food preparation and maintain high standards of bar presentation.
  • Handle keg changes and beer line cleaning to ensure quality and hygiene.
  • Plan, coordinate, and run on-site events that engage and delight guests.
  • Assist with administrative duties and general venue support as required.

About You

You're a confident and organised hospitality professional who takes pride in creating exceptional experiences.

You can balance the excitement of a busy bar with the discipline of great systems and leadership.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of bar operations, stock movement, and basic kitchen functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook - including calendar management).
  • A passion for food, beverages, and creating memorable experiences.
  • Effective communicator who builds strong relationships across all levels.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year in hospitality management.
  • Proven experience ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • A current Manager's Certificate and Servewise Certificate is required
